I've been experimenting with dutching and have a couple of questions regarding the automation feature in Guardian. Is it possible to use Guardian to automate dutching and match the stake to the odds to ensure a consistent gain across all selections? Specifically, can I use Guardian to back the first three favourites with the correct stakes to provide the same return if any of those selections win? If not, can this be acheived using Excel?
Thanks

You can write a small excel module to show what stakes are needed.
If you have SP1,SP2,SP3, e.g 2.0,3.5,5.0, then the equation would be:

For SP1=1/2.0 =.5 =50.0%
For SP2=1/3.5=.286=28.6%
For SP3=1/5.0=.20 =20.0%

So SP1 Stake would be 50/(50+28.6+20)*Stake=50/(98.6)*stake=0.507*Stake

SP2 Stake =28.6/(98.6)*Stake= 0.29*Stake

SP3 Stake=20.0/(98.6)*Stake=0.202*Stake

So if Stake =10.00, SP1=5.07, SP2=2.90, SP3=2.03

Hope this helps.

Thanks RobbyRob
I've given Excel a wide berth up until now - I've been using the automation feature, and good as it is, it does have it's limitations. I think now would be a good time to have a look at what Excel can do. I'll use your instructions as a basis and let you know how I get on.
Thanks again

Excel has considerably more capabilities, including using formulas to calculate stakes

The problem I find with Excel, is that if you use multiple sheets, some sheets don't always update regularly. It also has a tendency to slow my laptop down.

Automation solves those issues though. It implements my commands as it flicks through all the markets in Guardian, without having any adverse effects on my speeds

Thanks Le Tiss
Automation doesn't seem to have the capability of using a stake & dividing it into amounts to set against differing S.P.'s as the dutching screen will.
So that is why I gave the equations to use with Excel.
