Until these things start to appeal to regular punters (and let's not forget they see Betfair as being too complicated already) then it'll just be pro vs pro and nobody will make any money. Its all just tech jargon and absolutely no business plan for how to build a product around it which might be the next poker/bingo/casino/any sort of actual entertainment.

They'll raise a load of capital, spend it and vanish just like the rest of them.

The lack of a viable alternative is dispiriting, the exchange is a great concept and I doubt the urge to gamble is on the decline anywhere so why has the exchange model not taken off?

A few possibles,
Public disinterest in price value or why that changes so fast, and its irrelevance if you only bet infrequently anyway.
Boring software front ends lacking gamification.
No jackpot element to win big with a small interest which is why people play casino bingo or poker, nobody is looking for a 5% RoI on 2000 bets.

Generally I think people just expect more bang for their buck. The act of placing a bet and watching it lose on the video hasn't progressed since the 80s. It's as dull as fck.

That banal presentation on value drew loads of praise yesterday as if it was a new and earth shattering revelation so your right on the 1st. Should have been accompanied by a explanation of the bookies overround.

We really need Honest Joe to get his shit together and have another crack. :x

I remember when Channel 4 racing used to show the overround when they put the prices up!
