I found it very interesting listening to an energy expert about taxing the big companies like BP and Shell.
Basically, its all very well Labour saying to tax them more but you actually cant as the majority of their profits are not made in the UK. Its peanuts and the UK is not even mentioned in their accounts revenue breakdowns and nor does it have to be as it account for less than 10% of income.
So, where is the money coming from to bail everyone out for Winter ?

Hah! Miss an appointment? Try to get one first. It's impossible round here. Only way to see a Doctor is to crawl to the surgery and queue.Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 6:13 pmFor how many years?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 5:44 pmHe will back date what you owe Derek. Basically, bent the truth when speaking to the receiptionsit at my GP surgery, making a condition sound much more serious than maybe it was. I figured out a long time ago that when you see the GP they never been given the full facts for requesting the appointment anyway.
As with allot of things in life, sometimes you just need to get your foot in the door by hook or by crook.
But please dont tell Sunak otherwise I will probably end up with a bill far higher than Derek's.
I once told the receptionist I was coughing up blood when I had a cold and they were fully booked. She ran me back when there was a cancellation to book an appointment. The doctor prescribed me antibiotics and instructed me to go to the hospital for a chest x-ray. I took the antibiotics but didn't bother going to hospital.
I did actually think I coughed up blood but I'm sure I would have realized if I thought about it that it came out of my nose as I coughed, which was bleeding at the time.
