It would seem Truss/Kwarteng are toast. So who next?
Would the membership eat humble pie and elect Sunak? Or would they run to their last darling, Boris, and the fiasco would continue?
It seems like the Tories are trying to get themselves out of govt.
I can't blame them 'cos it's a world of pain for a politician right now.
But isn't this the exact scenario a decent politician, dedicated to "making a difference" would relish?

Somebody give her a junior pilot badge. Maybe that's where her problem lies.

Truss believes in growth, growth and growth.

Leaving the largest economic single market in the world can't be good for 'growth' surely.

Our trade with EU has dropped 23%. Our trade with non-EU has soared by .....0.8%.
I don't have a Phd in economics like our super PM but that looks pretty rubbish to me.
And those figures are independent of the covid dip. They are the reality of where we are.
Brexit isnt working and we really need it to work.

If Truss wants to understand growth she needs to read our gardening thread.

When you've been flattened by a bus, you don't need to make the experience work, you just need to get to a hospital. :)

Why do politicians offer to shake hands when they've still got 5 metres to walk toward the other person? I thought it was a habit Putin suffered from but I've just seen Truss do it!

Personally, I'd feel like a right tit walking towards somebody with my hand stretched out.

When I heard Truss has sacked her trade minister following a complaint I just assumed he's done something pretty bad and owned up to it. Now I hear that he's furious that he's been sacked without being given a chance to explain/defend himself!

I understand it's natural to assume that Tory MPs accused of wrongdoing are guilty, even those that aren't accused are probably up to no good, but everybody should have a fair chance to respond to complaints. Truss could be making a big mistake in her haste to show she's not like her disgraced and incompetent predecessor.

Piers Morgan put the situation eloquently. Truss put the British economy on red and it came up black. :D
