It didn't get muddled up in other topics, quite the reverse.
US Presidential Election 2020
A Republican was about to speak and sounded as though he was reversing/sympathizing but CNN decided to go back to the studio!gazuty wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 1:34 amI favour all objections being heard out and debated, in an elected chamber, with arguments being tested and evidence being called for. Hopefully (I know it wouldn't convince everyone) the vast majority of people are then satisfied that everything got fully aired, in courts, in congress etc and after it all being tested there was nothing there and the process continues as it ought to. If something of substance comes out of left field (seems very unlikely) then so be it. With apologies to CH - That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.
Surely Pence mused that just before he fell asleep ever since election night.
Thirteen more days of this madness to endure.
I wonder if Trump resigns, Pence gets sworn in, becomes 46 and then Pence does the handover. Trump does that a day or so before hand so he doesn't have to "endure" the hand over and can be off into the sulky wilderness. (Plus he has the added bonus that Biden folk have to ditch all the pre-purchased "46" hats).
My interest now is whether the GOP can throw off Trump. At least the Dems came up with a moderate centric mainstream candidate. Can the GOP do that next time around or does the GOP have to go to near ruin before sensible centre right candidates can emerge from the smouldering wrekage. None of what gave rise to Trump in terms of the economy are going away any time soon so (depressingly) I guess it could all happen again.
