As I've learnt the opposite of a good idea is often a good idea.
Now all we need is for everyone to think that, and then a 2nd referendum :)
But as you've just said the political landscape hasn't changed. Cameron plunged a divided nation into a generational decision.
Totally selfish, Tory stupidity.
And there is no way out. We can only hope that the UK is stronger than all this cobblers.

Corbyn the first opposition leader to not want a general election tells you a lot
He obviously wants maximum embarassment for the Govt before going for it. For me, if we go with this deal its better than none.
But I feel for NI, they're being sacrificed.
Labour will lose votes to the Lib Dems and the Brexit Party - Conservative majority imo

Everybody will take and lose votes from everyone else. Because a general election will be used to decide a single non party issue. It would be an abuse of the principals of general elections. If there's to be a vote on Brexit that needs to be the only thing on the ballot and a general election then used to decide the way forward from that.

Common sense seems to have prevailed tonight, move forward but with due constitutional diligence.

My gut says you're right. But then I've been wrong at every point from the Scottish Referendum onwards. All I know is the idea that leaving will reduce bureacracy, imigration and increase uk govt control is absolute nonsense.

I was very moved by the Dutch representative at the EU. He was in tears and didnt want us to leave. But the UK has always had a special relationship with holland and long may it continue. I love the people and country. At the moment i live in a house with 3 Dutch women, so i am probably biased. :)

And they're driving a BMW Isetta. Oh the irony.

Heard an interesting stat the other day, using the usual comparison with our fellow members of the G7, since 2016 Brexit has cost us £170bn in lost growth as at the end of 2019 (rising to £200bn at the end of 2020) and our total net contributions to the EU since 1972..... £180bn.

It's okay though...the HS2 is currently at £108 billion and counting, so, will give us something else to think about... (£55billion @ 2015)

Now a priority, so the relocation of the House of Lords to York, can go smoothly...

I'd be a bit disgusted if something like that was put up where I live. It's nothing like what I was brought up to believe.
I'll go with Martin Luther King.

Actually a UK registered BMW Isetta is a great example of how european nations managed to co-operate and trade successfully without needing the EU.
The BMW Isetta was in production between 1953-56 and the EEC, predecessor to the EU was not even formed until 1957.

The door is the bonnet on an Isetta! The whole of the front was a door to get in and out! :D

I'm not a fan of H&S when it goes OTT in my view but a car with only one door and at the front could be very dodgy if you run into something! But I think they are great fun. A kid at school had one when he upgraded from a motorbike!
