Not financially. Everything I've read and heard says that there won't be an upset.
The Dutch elections have proved that a populist result isn't a shoe in despite the other recent events.

Yes I have been, but had my trades have been up & down like Katie Price's knickers - I'm currently +76p

The liquidity is staggering though, 10 years ago you made never have seen such money traded on French Politics

Politics trading is an absolute must

I was a bit slow off the mark with this one, tbh have only been looking at them since Scottish in-out but agree you'de be mad not to get involved with them. Their recent rise has been staggering.

I often wonder how much of the traded money is from the regular sports traders and how much is from the financial/currency markets traders making a bit on the side?

I know this is after the event so won't mean much but I typed a long message last night on this topic recommending backing Melenchon at 55's and laying Fillon at 5.2 on some overnight news...and didn't hit send :( Today they are at 36 and 6.2 and I wish I'd been a bit braver about my offset and measily stake. Next time I must remember to hit send.

£2.77 ... not quite up to the price of a decent bottle of chateau mouton rothschild yet.

Possible further weakening of LePen's price on questions about her funding? (currently available to lay @ 4.8)

Macron's keeping his head down after the early campaign problems but I'd say 1.68 is already too short given that the polls have them all so close (yep i know polls aren't the be all and end all but what else have we got other than speculation?)

French Presendential Elections will be of great interest to the whole of the Western World!

France has historically been a very socialist country, but recent horrendous terrorist attacks has caused intense anger. They are also very divided on the subject of Muslim population levels and the complication that causes with integration, as we have seen with their attitude to the Burka.

Le Pen is driving French Nationalism and will say much about Europe's direction

Some movement again today - Macron is drifting, all the money is for Le Pen and Fillon

Over £9M matched now, astonishing market.

I think Dallas is right with regards to Politics trading - it seems to be a combination of Sports traders, and City traders colliding. Fantastic liquidity nonetheless, and an absolute must for everyone to dip their toes into

The problem is that you have liquidity blocked for another 5 weeks at least, especially if laying long term.

Best, Laurent

Yes that's true, but I set aside 10% of my BF bank for Ante-Post trades. They often require patience and a longer-term view, but are a great source of additional income when they come to fruition - I have a number of tasty greens on the Premier League, that are going to be over 6 months from the time I placed the trades, to the time i received the profit

And how long do the bank 'block your liquidity' if you try and take advantage of their amazing 0.001% pa interest deals?

I agree. I do have long positions on several events too, but I was just pointing out the obvious. Politics is a very lucrative market if you know what you're doing.
