Higher than normal turnout (for a by-election) - but there was a low turnout in leave areas in the euros - it suggests Labour have managed to get their vote out and according to Sky they've won by 500.

Disgraceful coverage on Sky going on about TBP funding and filming Farage going into the gents.

I wouldn't have Sky or watch Sky if you paid me, I'm suprised you do.

This is why the country is split. And we need a civil war.

Perhaps all those tv pics this week of 90 year old men crying didn't move you? I've got a framed embroidery my grandad made of his regimental crest while in his hospital bed, recovering from having his arse and the backs of his legs blown off, he wouldn't agree with you.

Shaun's spot on.
War is good for absolutely nothing.
Warmongers are the scum of humanity.

Actually, I think I've gone off topic with the previous post.
Essentially Peterborough has gone from being a Lab/Con marginal to a Lab/Brexit marginal.
It was a leave constituency, but has now rejected Brexit, albeit marginally.
Given Brexit was about uniting the Conservative party so they can get elected, doesn't this tell us something? They were trounced.

The fact it was (& always has been) a marginal shoulda been a massive warning sign @ 1.30

Something I'll defo keep in mind next time for by's

People, including myself, put far too much emphasis on the 60% leave vote

The 'no deal' voters, ie the brexit party voters, are only a subset of the overall leave vote, the tail end of the bell curve. I'm not seeing much evidence to say that more than 50% of leavers want no deal, making that the preferred outcome of iro 25% of the electorate. In a 60/40 ward, 50% of 60% makes it about 30%. With the brexit party on 28.89% and the UKIPs on 1.18%, that makes 30.07%.

Have a day off pontificating for once, Shaun, I doubt it was anything other than a throwaway remark.
