So my wonderful 500+hr greyhound bot has lost -£57 today!
Down to £29 profit for the month now, hmmmm
My dog £ is a bit down this year too so far. Do you use any measure other than cash? I'm assuming you rarely get a clean across the board hedge because of the way you close. It can obviously skew your results because it then depends on what wins.
-£50 today in the end, those 2 bad boys cost me -£55, of it, so the other 32 markets were profitable

i'm actually not convinced by horse form models in these UK markets, as the opinion is so varied and wide, and just on a single market opinion maybe affected by one particular form item, like George's mother's father's brother's son's son won the Gold Cup....! And then the next race the fav "steams" because Harry is riding it !
Sires are a great source of info because they can have 1500+ offspring that have raced so you can gain lots from that, like what distance they will prefer, is it a 2yo sire, do the males do better than the females or vice versa, going, even what gear they may like. But that horse Harry is on and steaming maybe doing that because of something else not because Harry is on board

The nature of the game is such that poor for some always means good for others.

How did your PL look vs the benchmark? You can't trust the short tern cash when you have unclean hedges or straight bet because the outcome of the races comes into play.

Markets are so full of smart people these days that if you want to make money you have to do "stupid" things.

The quote marks around Trader724's 'stupid' means don't take it literally. Ie they may seem stupid to the uninitiated, but they're actually smarter than the average bear. I think it was obvious that anything literally stupid would be...stupid.

Your explanation of Trader 724's use of "stupid" is interesting. To me "stupid" means stupid. But I only achieved 'O' level English and still struggle with apostrophe rules :)

So here is my month to date PnL both "Actual" and "PerfectHedge" (normalized trading profit).
Started month steadily then the last week or so a steady downtrend... hoping this is just the January doldrums... what ever my edge really works with wasn't there!
