The horse is Swinging London 3.25 Warwick
That's a great choice at 1000/1 and a terrible choice at 1/1000.

It is if you where on the Fav in the two horse race....gumped at 1.01. Dear me. What external factors might have caused that horse to jink like that very suspicious.

The first Dick Francis book I read had exactly that as the premise; spooked/blinded by a laser.

I never read any of his books but I've seen a film, think it was Dead Cert. From what I remember the two jockeys leading in the Grand National had a fight, the goodie throwing the baddie off his horse and leaving him impaled on a spiked fence (which would have breached health and safety regulations even at that time) before going on to win. Never mind a police investigation, there wasn't even a steward's inquiry!

I'd recommend the earlier Francis books. I went off him later on.

Robbie Dunne threatened to do that to Bryony Frost and got banned for 18 months, later reduced to 10 months....

What have BF done there with the Dubai Gold Cup? 7 minutes to go and they've suspended the whole race, prices gone too.

Back now, must've got it confused with another meeting :?

Was the 14:55 at Lingfield unusual in anyway? My SP bets didn't get matched.

...cancel that they did, but BA still has one as unmatched.

Two afternoon meetings, races spaced 15 minutes apart. Just like the good old days when I was growing up. :D
