If you could identify a market where as you’re sure a steamer is about to play out what would you do?, get on the steamer or on the back of identifying the steamer get on the drifter?

Few different things to consider; if either the drifter or steamer were near a crossover, how many runners were drifting or steaming (i.e Is it a 2 v 1 situation) and if there were any significant backing patterns earlier in the card.

Most of the time though I'd look for the drifter.

Preference is to look for a selection in race that has an overall weakness, compared to the other runners, then look for confirmation that it is likely to drift. When they do, they really drift within a big range. When they don't, cut and run, as the market has other ideas.

Semi automation, for me, works better. ie: Nominate selection, allow automation to confirm drift, place trade, monitor, stay in/cut&run manually.
