in play laying horses, P&L errors?

hello all,

today i layed a horse £10 at odds of 15, the horse lost so the p&l hedge button was showing red -280.

it did this on about 6 races, i checked on racingtv website to see if my selected horse won or lost and every race my selection did not win.

so basically where there should have been a green £10.00, there was a -280 or other figure, -190, -168 and so on for all of those races where it seemed to be showing an error.

anybody know whats going on?

If the layed horse LOST, the P&L should have been showing the £10 minus commission. Or do you mean the lay bet lost?

If all of your bets were LAY bets and none of the horses layed went on to win those races, then every lay bet is a winning bet - forget the P&L, what does your Betting Profit & Loss say for today?

Yes at the end of the race the screen will show that you could make a back bet at something like 1.03 against every horse other than the winner where it will show that you could only make a lay bet. If you had to close out the horse that you layed at 15 by backing at 1:03 . You don’t of course because you laid a loser but what the screen is showing you is what would happen if you did have to do that.

And at the time when it is showing negative 280 what is the "available" back price? I put "available" because it is probably the end of the race and not available.

Greenup will be messed up if there is a big spread between prices on offer, you shouldnt use it in the first place

if a layed horse goes on to win you cant back it for 1.00 thats why you got the large negative displayed

I wasn't backing it if it lost. The green up hedge button on the ladder was just showing a red figure when normally it shows a green figure.

I think it's something to do with Betfair race listing at the end of the race, sometimes they go a bit weird and fail to completely resolve and they sometimes appear to be showing that the race is still in play.

A race will still be 'in play' when the race is finished if there is a photo finish.
