My own trading/betting activity has a marked predominance for laying (over backing). There are a few reasons, I think that developed for me over time, but I think partly it is just a preference rather than being more profitable than my backing trading/betting.

Does anyone else have marked difference in amount of backing and laying trades they use?

For pre-off racing I open with a lay more times than with backs, if I had to put a number on it I'd say 70/30

In Tennis I almost exclusively lay first

Greyhounds and football are probably around 50/50

So overall I'm definitely well weighted to the lay side

at the bottom of a trading range with a tick under the crossover-point and a few more boxes ticked ............lay it all the way, all the time .

For the horses, do you have a view why you favour laying over backing?

On this, I've been thinking I find it easier to search for reasoning to lay rather than back on entry points. That may come from my historical experiences laying horses for fundamentals.
But I presume you may have alternative reasons.
