Apostrophes now included in horses' names on BF
Is this new? It's screwing up my automation. I've always removed them so names match perfectly, but suddenly they don't where an apostrophe is in the name. The 3:08 at Chester has 3 such runners (Sophie's Star, Poet's Magic and Scot's Grace), and I noticed one from yesterday when parsing yesterday's results this morning.
I know it's a nuisance to botters, but from somebody with an apostrophe in his surname, it's about time banks, credit cards, all computer systems and even Betfair enter the 21st Century. Typewriters had them over a hundred years ago.

The only time I've ever changed my 'title' is when they ask you your name to put on the coffee cup and that day I felt like an Eduardo

Due to a technical issue, we are aware that some horse racing selection name data has been published to include apostrophes. Apostrophes would normally be excluded from a horse's selection name when returned via the API.
This will result in any of the affected selection names being assigned a different selectionId to the one usually published without an apostrophe. Our tech teams are working to rectify this issue and restore the usual behaviour i.e. once fixed any future selection names will be published without apostrophes.
We’ll publish a further update as soon as this issue has been rectified.
