Just wanted to know people's opinions on the racing these past couple of weeks or so. Looks to me like trends are much stronger than normal; less volatility, and fewer opportunities for short term swing trading.

Is this due to the time of year? Just a temporary phase? Or some other factor? Haven't noticed any difference in recent race quality, but the behaviour seems very different! Seems to be fewer, but possibly better opportunities per race.

Any thoughts? Do markets just go through phases at random, or is it maybe seasonal? Are people adapting their methods, or just business as usual.

The field sizes today seemed normal. The quality was as expected. There were no clashes.

Maybe the lack of competitiveness in the fields created stronger trends? Is that what PW means when he talks about the February lack of quality? Not actually the quality of race per se, but the quality of activity?
