Incredible Rik. How do bet in play in Australia with the picture delay? Or is this only in the UK?
I try to identify what are the smart stakes and follow the sustained betting, i have video/audio just in the background

ha, probably the price someone is asking for is more important than the exact amount to judge whether its likely a mug stake to oppose
could he have likely gotten a better price, how much better? Is the stake disproportionate to what makes sense to stake in the race/market situation? if yes probably good idea to oppose
just got to get it right more often than not

Super day.

Bots have done well.

Now at AFL match. Good to be allowed to go to a full stadium. 30,000.

Interesting inscription on cap on guy in front.

Newbot had another day of outperformance. I did some tweaking during the week, after 6 weeks of letting it run untouched.

So far today: 9.1% on 11000 bets.

9.1% thats total wins of settled markets / total losses = 1.091?
Must be having large amounts of bets per market, so advantage per bet quite minimal?
Seems to be winning consistently anyway, good

wins/total spend.

and, yeah, quite a few small bets per horse (just trying to collect data to work out where to invest more / less heavily)

Results have been positive for 6 or so weeks, but they are very clunky, so i dont trust them too much. For example if I made 100 units today, and there were 100 races, each race might have been +/- 20 units.

wins/total spend.
Isnt wins/total spend dependent on odds therefore not as telling?
You had 10000 bets at average odds 1.05 and not lose one your at 5% but extremely unlikely variance cause of profit

You bet at average odds 20, 5% don't have to mean much

I guess its best to track several indicators, but my opinion win/loss ratio to measure edge is better as relatively odds independent and having multiple bets per market wont mess up the numbers as much.

You win 110 for every 100 you lose, you shouldn't need too large a sample to be quite sure of an edge, whereas win/total spend could give a wide range

What's total spent??

I hate it when the GC talk about money "spent" on gambling as though the horse is guaranteed to lose and we're spending the money for the enjoyment of watching the horse lose.

If you have £1K on a horse and then scratch, true, you've risked losing £1K, but do it again and the total you risked remains at £1K, not £2K, so I've never regarded turnover as an informative figure.
