Scalping if Pressure has Built Guardian Automation Bot

My bank Shaun is arbitrary. Just £2 of a pretend bank of £100. My actual Betfair is far healthier than that.

So, what your saying is to leave it at £2 for the duration of the test period, are you?

I'm not new to Betfair but I am new to automation and so far I haven't done any manual scalping.
The amounts required with manual scalping to make it worthwhile, whilst sitting in front of my computer all day, is just too scary for me.

My mission, is to find a profitable automation strategy, that I can run in the background whilst studying other methods.
I've watched most of Peters videos, but I think I need to go back through them again, as a lot of it hasn't sunk in.

A passive income is most people's aim I think. I only automate, I'd recommend thinking about automating the things you can't do manually. Ie scalping (presumably the fav) is OK but you could be scalping everything anywhere, anytime for instance. All markets have more similarities than differences so scale up rather than doing what one pair of hands can do.

Yes keep it to a couple of quid, low margin strategies might go on good or bad runs for a few hundred races or more so be wary of false dawns.

Hi Dallas,
I have been away and only just getting back to this. Can you clarify one point for me. Just looking at the high lighted back bet and then the condition, it almost seems like the condition has the > symbol the wrong way around. Is it the way I am reading it because it reads to me like there is more money on lay side which you would expect to be laying but instead it is backing. Once I have this clarified I will tidy it all up and label everything correctly.
Regards,
Anthony

Hi Anthony, I am new to the community and noticed your posts. I was wondering how this went and if you have an updated version of the automation you could share? Cheers

That's not the bot from the OP of this thread, this one only has two rules in it?

That's likely due to a slow refresh rate in Guardian.
If you set it at 20ms that should prevent that in future, also if you use the restrict refresh option on the advanced tab so it's only focusing on markets which have rules triggering that will optimize it even better

Hi Dallas,

Sorry to bother you (again :D :D )

Should the Restrict Refresh box be ticked or not ticked ?

OK I spent 3 days on this and made some observations

Best to make (1) trade only so green setting 0.01

Change the timing - can be used on any markets and only focus on F1

calculate a price and add couple conditions -- and you will grind out a profit

I'm going to post against this one as you seem to be posting against multiple different threads at the same time.

You appear to be having a scattergun approach to multiple items. And it also feels like you're emotionally posting having had some losses. I get it, been there, got the t-shirt.

3 Days is f*** all. And I mean sweet f*** all. I look at stuff for months, at a minimum 3 with small stakes and then decide whether it's worth scaling or not. I also use that for gathering data.

My advice, and trust me, been there got the t-shirt (have multiple, for sale at large discount at all good shops now).

Slow down..... Concentrate on one thing, master it "manually", then, take that logic, and apply it to automation, with small stakes. Look. Learn. What are the losers, what's the rough price you're entering at, what's the grade, what's the race type, at what time before off am I entering, what's the liquidity, what's the volume (distinct difference between the two).how many runners? WOM?? (not so much these days but still a consideration).

Record, look back, what's worked, what hasn't. How you record is up to you, some people prefer looking at data (myself in that category), others like looking at screen recordings.

The markets aren't going to go anywhere, they'll still be there after your learning period, why rush? Does a brain surgeon go and operate after 3 days of observing? No. So why should you go putting your hard earned money into something after 3 days.

No sorry you misunderstood - I have been doing this for years -- I just decided to either solve or not each automation one by one... kind of tired of hearing about peoples losses

just using small stakes as that is what most people post about here

using an installation just to run this today

cheers

(I also left the thing deliberately open to do markets I normally would not consider just to prove the point that it can do most markets after quite a lot of modifications)
