Storing the price as the horses start to load

Hi,

Is there a way to store the price of the runners once they start to load the stalls (flat racing).

I want to automate taking SP but as late as possible as the Projected SP is often far from the real SP and using the off time can again be up to 5mins before the start?

I know betfair display horses going behind on the exchange markets. So you'd think it should be possible to automate this.

Thanks in advance,

Miyagi

Place your back bet at 1000 and set it to TakeSP. It won't be matched until the race starts. You can do that whenever you want not just late.

You don't have to do this anymore, there's now an option in Guardian to set a straight SP bet.

Hi Guy's thanks for your replies.

Sorry, I probably wasn't very clear. | need to know via stored value all the horses prices as the horses start loading, not before or after this time

I want to take SP as late as possible before the actual start with conditions attached.

I can store horse prices at certain times before the event start time. However that period between event start and the actual start varies so much that the prices move all over the place. So for flat races if I can automate recording the horses prices when they start to load it's probably as close as I'll get to the actual start so if conditions are satisfied I can take SP seconds before the off.

Thanks,

Miyagi

There is no functionality in Guardian to read the Betfair race state (eg going down/going behind etc).

SP will be close to the LTP (usually within half a tick but on avg the same). You can repeatedly, conditionally place or cancel your BSP bet depending on how that's moving, starting at the scheduled off time. You'll be a lot closer to knowing the true SP that way than fixing it at some point where they're just loading, and before one starts messing about or gets withdrawn.

Thanks Shaun,

How can I automate that given the differing times between event start and actual off time.

You don't need to worry about the time, if Guardian is set up to keep checking the likely SP(LTP,) and placing if there isn't one, or cancelling if there is (depending on your price range), maybe every 10s from the scheduled start time. The bet will be there or not when the gates open whether that's in a few seconds or 10 minutes.
