Betfair Down / Betfair site crash
For those more experienced with big Betfair outages, what are their arguments for not voiding all bets that are seriously effected for the duration of a football game. To me that seems obviously the fair thing to do.
I had a liability for Under 2.5 goals in the Napoli v Juventus game, it went to 1 - 1 and there was just no way I could trade out before the 3rd goal went in. The site came back for the last 5 mins or so of the game just to add to my annoyance.
Their help desk is laughable at the moment too, just spamming me with "Your patience is greatly appreciated just hold on a few more minutes"
At least i didnt lose too much, other people must have lost a lot more, you have my sympathy !

I literally hopped on Betfair about 10 mins before the outage, not a bad effort for a few minutes work Hope nobody blew their bank, but was lucky again not to have too much exposed at the time of outage, definitely chose the wrong match to work.
That really sucks for pure traders, said it before but in the near future when modelling markets and strategies I think it's best to take outages into account and focus more on the value side of things, easier said than done
To be fair it's not like they can read your mind or intentions so all bets stand

They benefit in people winning large amounts from the unlucky losers and taking their commission.goat68 wrote: ↑Sat Sep 11, 2021 6:47 pmWhy do they benefit? surely they're losing transaction income?
Seems they thus have no incentive to make sure it is more reliable... If I had a "corner a market" and actually made money if the system had a glitch, I would definitely not hurry to fix it, at least while we still had it "cornered"...!
