I'd still be careful for next 60 minutes. It could go again.

Grimly amused that I lost on a horse called Steady the Ship.

Betfair obviously don't own it.

Markets should have been suspended, and affected markels declared void.

People on twitter are saying they won't void the markets as this has happened before and they didn't then. Is this really the case? Surely they have a duty to their customers if the system is down due to issues on their side...?

Are you all continuing to trade for the day, or take the day off? I'm not sure yet, will keep an eye on the next few markets and see what happens.

I'm sure others here would know better than me, but from what I'm aware, they don't consider being unable to trade out as a reason to void the market.

Betfair will never void a horse racing market due to them considering money placed into the markets a 'Bets' and they will refer you to the T&C you were forced to agree with if you wanted to use their platform.

However, the new advertising strategy on TV and radio promotes the trading aspect of the Betfair Exchange. Surely this should force them into looking further into voiding the races when their platform fails. Which isn't unusual. How can they promote and sell their product as a trading platform and not void the markets when only one side of the trade is activated. If they don’t they should not be advertising the exchange for trading purposes.

Because of that advetisment there might even be a legal case to be put forward to have the race void if the product was sold to you on the ability to trade (open/close) positions on the platform and they have not lived up to your expectations.
