the train journey back was a bit of a mare.
The drive back wasn't much better. Pea soup fog for the last 90miles, 40mph max, eyes glued to about 3 visible catseyes.
Shame I was a bit knackered even before i'd got there so wasn't firing on all cylinders, but an enjoyable evening. Meeting a few legends was inspirational, a nice start to the year ahead, onwards and upwards.

Big thanks to everyone who came for your insights, explanations and directions within the markets. I've been very lucky to be able to pick your brains, the knowledge and experience you have is on another level. Time for many hours in front of the computer, I'm glad I know where I need to be heading.
Apologies if I interrupted any of your conversations :D

Wasn't sure what to expect prior to meeting up but it turned out to be a very interesting and informative evening over four to five hours. Everybody was 'bonhommie' and I got to chat to most people about how they are using the Api which is in great contrast to my efforts using BetAngel/Excel. Particular thanks to Mike for his guidance. My goals going foward are to convert my Excel strategy to python, no sweat. Looking forward to the next meeting :D

I guess forumites might want to go just for the meet up rather than python. Never been to the Counting House but anywhere that beer's served.... :)

What's a "Goodwood week" ? ;)

Would love to come Liam but I'm having a skip delivered, if there's rain in the forecast and I might attend but otherwise I'll be doing a Mr Benn and pretending to be a builder....and the stereo is busted in the car too and I don't fancy doing 170mls each way in silence. :?

Shame, you know it would probably be worth it though! I haven’t been to London for 18 months so going to be an odd one for me tbh.

I changed my mind, then found out my MOT ran out on the 13th! If I can get it done I'll be there, but definately the next.

This expired MOT makes being let off speeding at the weekend even luckier ! Copper with a handcam in the village, I drove back and said "so I'm not wondering for days, you got me didn't you?" ....."You were doing 45 in a 30, but I've let you off because you slowed down"   yeah only cos I saw him and wanted to do a U-turn to beg! As a reminder it's worked though, saved him the paperwork and saved me 80 quid.

There was a scheme in my area a few years ago where speeding motorists would be given a choice of a fine or a ticking off about the dangers of speeding by a group of eight-year-olds.
