Trigger Bets from your Imported List (Template) - Guardian Automation Bot

This is a basic Guardian automation file for use on all types of markets.

The purpose of this file is to be used as a raw template, its job is to Store the Values of Market and Selection information which your other rules can use to trigger bets on

The information it stores text values for as soon as it's applied to markets are as follows;

Stored Value name = market_name (on the market) with the value type The Market Name.
Stored Value name = event_name (on the market) with the value type The Event Name.
Stored Value name = venue_name (on the market) with the value type The Venue
Stored Value name = comp_name (on the market) with the value type The Competition.
Stored Value name = selection_name (on the selection) in row 1 with the value type The Selection Name.
Stored Value name = trainer_name (on the selection) in row 1 with the value type The Trainer Name.
Stored Value name = jockey_name (on the selection) in row 1 with the value type The Jockey Name.

I have also included a 'Sample' rule which is intended for use on Tennis Markets and will place a £10 back bet 5 secs after the match goes in-play if one of the players names match one on those on the list of names on the 'Text Comparison Condition'



How it works and using the Rules File
Once you have it imported into your Guardian the stake size along with any other aspects of this file can be edited very easily by clicking on "Edit Rules File".
Please refer to the 'Note' tab for each rule for more details and to understand how each rule works and how it may be connected to other rules within the file

Downloading and Importing the Files
To use the file just click on the 'Trigger Bets from your Import List.baf' link below and that will download it to your computer, then with guardian open on the "Automation" tab click "Import a Rules File" as shown in the image, once imported it will now appear in the pick list area just above, you can now apply it to any markets you have added into guardian.

Just to let you know Betfair mainly only provide the scores and server data for the ATP/WTA tier competitions and the season for them has now finished until Jan
So unless you find a lower tier tournament where they are providing the scores/server info non of the rules in that section will work at the moment as they all use score/server conditions to some degree

What if my data source jockey name is "W Buick" and Betfair Jockey name is "William Buick". This will not be picked upmatched/reconciled?

My Jockey perfomance data source is Sporting life - I import into excel bet angel s/sheet. But the BF/Bet Angel jockey name won't reconcile.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to resolve (Edit/Replace is a solution I suppose)

You can just change the criteria on the Text Comparison condition

Hi Dallas, Peter has kindly referred me to your post, as I'm trying to build a rule which I can update each day to trigger lay bets on certain horses throughout the day. This sample file contains a rule to place a back bet on certain tennis players, which i think I can adapt, but the 'bet' rule is to "Set/Modify a Signal Only'. What am I missing? Thanks.

The second rule just needs editing to whatever it is you want it to do (ie, place a back bet, place a lay bet)
On the condition tab of that rule you'de paste in the list of horse names you want the rule to trigger on in place of the tennis players already there

Also one other change you'll need to do is to the first rule, this needs to be applied to 'Every' selection (not Betfair row 1 as it currently is)

The automation wants me to place the bet at a fixed price (greyed out), even though I've added fixed price conditions to lay the bet between 2 prices. Can I just 'Place at' a fixed price of 1.01 to trigger the bet, and the price conditions would override that?

Sounds like you've used the rule type 'Lay all selections'

You need to use the rule type 'Place a Lay bet'
and apply it to 'Every' selection

I've been trying to use this but can't get it firing bets.

I want to place a lay bet on a number of runners (between maybe 2 or 6) if their odds are within a certain range 3 minutes away from the start of the race.

I have stored values set up and my lay bet rules file including a list of all the horses I want to possibly lay (depending on the odds) but they lay bet just isn't being triggered in guardian even when all conditions are met.

In my guardian log everything is saying 1/1 triggers except from my lay bet rule which says 0/1 so it must be something to do with that.

My refresh is 20 ms. The only thing I haven't done is select anything is automation nominated selection 1 or 2 as I want all runners looked at by the stored values and not just 1 or 2.

Could that be the reason it's not working? And if so how can I select more than 2 in "automation nominated selection"?

If you edit the existing back bet rule all you need to do is change it to 'Place a Lay bet' and apply it to every selection
Then add 2 x 'Fixed odds conditions' to create your price range

Then just paste you list of runners into the Stored Value condition in place of the existing tennis players names

And of course set the stake and rule trigger times to suit

Just tried it and still not working. I entered a selection from the last race and changed the odds and to lay bet with stake etc.

Can I ask you to have a quick look at the file and see what i'm missing please?

Obviously you would need to change the selection name and paste any runners in the race what you choose. As many as possible that fit between the odds rules (lay odds over 5 - lay odds under 15)

I've also noticed the selection_name under stored values tab, that ANY selection is greyed out? not sure if that is making a difference?
