These servants are designed to be used on any volatile and gappy markets including Horse Racing while In-Running and Greyhounds.

The purpose of the servants is to place a back or lay bet then offset that bet with greening if matched – but instead of specifying a number of ticks or percentage to offset by and potentially robbing yourself of a much greater profit these servants will try and take advantage of gaps between the back and lay price by placing the offset bet 1 tick in front of the best reverse market price, this means the offset bet could be placed anywhere from 1 tick to several dozen ticks away from your opening bet (but never at a loss which I’ll explain further down in the post).

To help you visualize this in the example image below of an in-running market the Servant has offered a back bet at 14.0 imagine that had just been matched the best reverse market price is now 7.8, so the offset bet with greening would be placed 1 tick in front of this at 8.0 – offering your offset at the best price for a potential 16 ticks profit.

There are two servants to download from the bottom of this post, both are identical except one places an opening back bet then offsets with greening the other an opening lay bet then offsets with greening.

Each Servant uses ‘Selection, stake and Price Context’ so you simply need to point your mouse cursor at the price (as if you were going to place a regular bet) but instead of clicking your mouse you’d press your chosen key/s and that will start the servant and it will place the back or lay bet at that price using the pre-set stake you have chosen at the time for that selection.

They can of course be used on either the ladder or one click screens.

How They Work

The first three rules do as their name suggests which are to ‘Clear/reset the number of matched bets’ on the selection, this rule also clears the stored value named entry (the reasons for this will become clear further on).

The other two Stop any previous servants and cancel any previous unmatched bets, these allow the servants to be re-used with no possibilities of something clashing from the previous or other servants you may have used on the selection.

The next rule is a ‘Place back Bet’ rule (or lay bet) as described above this will place the bet at whichever price you have your cursor hovering over when its started and use the pre-set stake for that selection, when it triggers the rule also stores the odds you place the bet with the name ‘entry’ after with an adjustment of minus 1 tick – this is configured on the Stored Values tab of the rule, ie if you backed at 4.4 it would store a value named ‘entry’ with a value of 4.3
Note on the lay rule is stores the price with an adjustment of plus 1 tick

The final rule is the Offset with Green Up rule, this will place the green up bet 1 tick above the best reverse market price (and 1 tick below the best reverse market price when using the lay bet servant).

This rule needs two conditions to be satisfied, the first is the number of matched bets on the selection must be greater than ‘0’ so as soon as all or part of your opening bet is matched that will satisfy this condition (if you’d like the whole bet to be matched before this green up rule triggers add a ‘Number of unmatched bets condition on selection is equal to ‘0’).

*Its because of this condition that we use a ‘Checkpoint matched bets’ rule each time the servant is started so that it resets the number of matched bets back to zero

The second condition is a Stored value, this is used to test the back price is less than the stored value named ‘entry’ (on the ‘Lay bet Servant this conditions tests the lay price is greater than the stored value named ‘entry’)
This condition prevents the green up rule triggering if the green up would result in a loss, as soon at its possible to green up for a profit it will trigger.

Downloading & Using the Servants

To use these servants just click on the ASC Place Back Bet and Offset at Reverse Price & ASC Place Lay Bet and Offset at Reverse Price.Baf attachment links below and this will download them to your computer, then open your Servant Manager window and click the rules link at the top and then "Import a Rules File" as shown in the image, once imported it will now appear in your dropdown boxes and is ready to be started whenever required.

Once you have it imported into your Servant Manager it can be edited very easily simply by clicking on "Edit Rules File".

With any servant always run in practice mode first to ensure everything is working fine, and repeat this each time you make any changes.

See the following thread for step by step instructions on downloading and importing a servant into your Bet Angel, or see image below on where to import it in your Servant Manager.

Dallas, looks like you've just opened up the pre-off greys to a whole new set ;)

Will be interesting to see this in action mixed with another one of your pre off Greys automation files Dallas... stirs the mind for ideas.

Great stuff

...is it easy enough to combine this servant with another servant such as the iceberg order servant?

I'd have to check both later to be 100% sure but off the top of my head they should work together with no or little editing.

Thanks Dallas - I was thinking of customising this servant by adding the info from the iceberg servant rather than running two separate servants - is that what you also had in mind?

It was more the conditions just to ensure one didn't have something like a unmatched bets cond that could conflict with the other, but if both sets of conditions appear compatible the rest will be fine, otherwise a tweak to whichever condition/s may be conflicting will be all thats needed

Thanks Dallas - I really need to spend an afternoon or two going through all of the parameters and conditions to get a thorough understanding of their various attributes and differences.

Is it possible to Offset a bet but with double the stake so that you basically cancel the first bet and then place a back bet at that price?

As in flip your position?

The offset option can't do that but you could create a servant which uses your Net stake multiplied by 2
So at the push of a button (or when your conditions are met) it will place a bet of twice the value on the other side

Yes flip the position. I'll give it a try. Thanks Dallas!
