Thanks for that
Euro 2020
There's something wrong with a competition when there's an incentive not to win and you need to enlist the skills of a mathematician just to work out who plays who. Perhaps they should just have a draw for the final 16, and have it at the same time as the draw for the national lottery!

All of the final group matches should be on the same day at the same time ... those playing on the last day of the group matches hoping for a 3rd place to qualify are at an advantage to those who's last group match was first.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 3:09 pmThere's something wrong with a competition when there's an incentive not to win and you need to enlist the skills of a mathematician just to work out who plays who. 4 groups of 6, semi-final and final. No pissing about with 1st or 2nd place.
Better still, 4 groups of 4. There are 44 countries in Europe, do we need more than half of them in the tournament?
And WTF is Russia doing in the Euros???

They controlled several countrie now in the EU? They helped us beat the Nazis. Just a shame they have a democratically elected dictator that tries to kill his opponents. Ho hum.
But reaching out is better than turning your back, I think.
Russians are probably asking the same thing about England.
WTF это Англия делает в евро???
All things considered I'm partly glad we don't have the stress of qualifying to worry about and some stupid injury time goal knocking us out, but at the same time that has taken a bit of the excitement off the match
@nickgoff79
If England win the group I make them 11.85% to win the tournament. If they come second that becomes 9.47%. If you go to the pub tonight & someone tries telling you we're better off coming second, tell them maths can be hard but not hard enough to prove they are definitely wrong
