Man City were value to lay at 1.31 against Southampton any day.

Why? Short odds doesn't equate to valueOn_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:31 pmMan City were value to lay at 1.31 against Southampton any day.
Thanks, I'll lay them next time they're away to Southampton and 1.31 or less. Or perhaps you could give your tips before the match?On_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:31 pmMan City were value to lay at 1.31 against Southampton any day.

Of course. I’m happy to back or lay at that price depending on situationMobiusGrey wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:34 pmWhy? Short odds doesn't equate to valueOn_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:31 pmMan City were value to lay at 1.31 against Southampton any day.

It’s not a tip, it was just a statement. And next time the situation would be different.Derek27 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:37 pmThanks, I'll lay them next time they're away to Southampton and 1.31 or less. You said any day. With hindsight, City were value to lay at 1000!On_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:40 pmIt’s not a tip, it was just a statement. Any day is a just a phrase. Meaning under such conditions. And as I said before, I don’t do it with hindsight. I did this before the start of the match. In fact, I already entered the market about 2-3 days ago at these odds. I made about a dozen pre match bets for the weekend matches .Derek27 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:51 pmYou said any day. If they were 'value' at 1.31 what did you calculate their true odds to be?On_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:39 pmOf course. I think this question might have been asked and not sure if it's been answered so apologies if it has been but is this a straight back/lay challenge or do you actually trade the positions in play?On_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:57 pmAny day is a just a phrase. Put it this way, in my opinion Man City would be value to back if they were at 1.7 at the start, preferably even higher.MobiusGrey wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 10:09 pmIf they were 'value' at 1.31 what did you calculate their true odds to be?On_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:39 pmOf course. 1.3 is too low. Southampton are not Norwich , especially playing at home.
P.s. for the record that wasn’t the only position I took in the match.

A bit of both. I’m doing two separate things. One is simply backing or laying before kick off.Trader Pat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 10:12 pmI think this question might have been asked and not sure if it's been answered so apologies if it has been but is this a straight back/lay challenge or do you actually trade the positions in play?On_The_Edge wrote: ↑Sat Jan 22, 2022 9:57 pmAny day is a just a phrase. Another one is actually doing some trading as I see fit in play. This could involve taking a position before the match and managing it in play. The challenge being trying to avoid watching the match, or watching as little as possible and seeing if I’m still profitable long term. Just watching the market price and using my knowledge of the teams and historical odds.
I opened another Exchange account to keep the challenges separate.
I agree. Jota was heading away from the line of the ball. It was simply a collision that didn't effect the outcome of the play. Why are experienced referees not as good as you and me at spotting this?
