The punishment certainly doesn't fit the crime. FFP does the exact opposite of what the title suggests, but I suppose that's a different argument right now.
I cant honestly understand how they come to that decision. I think it will get reduced but it will open up a massive can of worms for the majority of teams in the league, the rules as they are not sustainable, nor are they in the best interests of the league.
Unless the 777 deal falls through EFC will be ok IMO.
But for sure 10 points for what EFC have been deemed to have done is peanuts compared to the sophisticated deceptin by Man C and Chelsea.
What if Man C are found guilty for the 100+ breaches? That would create chaos, trophies recinded, other teams elevated to Champions.
So in one way, flagrant breaches during successful campaigns over several years is Man C's protection. I can't see Man C getting anything ther than a slap on the wrist.
I would be surprised if it fell through but who knows these days. From what I've read about 777 they will get a discount on the purchase price of the club now, which I'm sure they will be more than happy with as they are purely for financial reasons.
I agree, I cant see City getting any kind of punishment of note. If they are found guilty then they have set precedent with Everton so surely that would see city drop several leagues, even if our punishment is reduced to 3 or 5 points.
Its also baffling how they let the 'big 6' escape any punishment for agreeing to leave the league altogether, but again that's another subject.
