Very unfair that image. Modric may be 35 but Casemiro and Kroos are only around 30. That was posted in hindsight after the result I'm betting. What Modric lacks in legs he makes up for in footballing intelligence. Zidane still rates him and they could still win La Liga

It does seem destiny for Man City this year to win this year, although a one off game could even things out a little, whoever they end up against. (Probably Real Madrid)

How are those elo ratings calculated does anyone know???

Thanks fella I will take a look at that today. I didn't agree with some of those rankings and that's putting it mildly lol
Here's a tip that a lot of younger football traders may have missed who watch matches. IMO the pro Co commentators on five live are very good if you wanted a very experienced second opinion if you were trading in play without your own opinion getting in the way. Because its radio they have to talk more. People like Clinton Morrison, Pat Nevin, Neil Lennon, Dion Dublin etc may not be as sexy or bigger names than sky pundits but the difference is you get their comments during the first half and in greater quantity. They are excellent game readers which is what you'd expect and that's what you want and not pre game tips
I laid Roma last week at 1-1 and again at 1-2 against United and backed the over markets purely on the game reading and analysis of Clinton Morrison. Sometimes listening is better than seeing
"In four months at Chelsea, Thomas Tuchel has now beaten Zinedine Zidane, Pep Guardiola, Jurgen Klopp, Diego Simeone (X2), José Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti. And without conceding a single goal either in those seven matches."
He also becomes the first manager in Champions League history to make it to the final in consecutive seasons with different clubs.
Not bad! Credit where due. Hope he beats Pep in the final, like he did in that league game.
Btw saw this somewhere, about their sacking policies.
They are apparently very good at sacking their manager mid-season and then reaching a European final.
1998 Cup Winners' Cup Gullit/Vialli
2008 Champions League Mourinho/Grant
2012 Champions League AVB/Di Matteo
2013 Europa League Di Matteo/Benitez
2021 Champions League Lampard/Tuchel

2009 was very close to adding another to that list. Hiddink replaced Scolari iirc and Chelsea were literally seconds from the final against united which would have been a repeat of the 2008 final when iniesta rifled one into the top corner
Don't like Arsenal's price tonight against Villarreal. They were totally outplayed in the first leg and got away with murder with a 2-1 loss. If this tie was priced purely on the ability of each coach then Evens would be shocking value. Emery knows how to get a result in this competition and especially against Arsenal. His record at Sevilla was awesome

Be careful what you wish for Kai. Iirc there are scenarios where if Liverpool finish 4th they could miss out on the CL if Chelsea win it and also if Arsenal win the EL. Its to do with the UEFA rule of not allowing six teams in the CL from the same country.
Yeah you're right. A lot has to happen to get to that situation. The projected points totals for the teams above them makes it difficult for them to make it anyway. West Ham have an easy run in on paper and Liverpool could finish 5/5 and still fall short
OGS wise to put a strong side out tonight. They have to prioritise the EL now as top 4 locked up. I recall Roma coming from 5-0 down at anfield in 2018 to only lose 7-6 on agg. Then there was the Barcelona comeback and even though this team is weaker, United are not great defensively. Imagine the knock on effect of surrendering a 6-2 lead
I'm struggling to remember a great final where two teams from the same country were in it. Going all the way back to Milan vs Juventus at Old Trafford to the two Madrid finals and iirc the United vs Chelsea final was poor as was Liverpool vs Tottenham. Iirc I don't think BM vs BD came alive in 2013 until extra time. The Chelsea vs Arsenal EL final was poor as Arsenal never turned up.
Well, from a trading perspective an English final can attract more money and the fillrate could be slightly less crap And boring games in general can be good to trade as well.Morbius wrote: ↑Thu May 06, 2021 8:38 pmI'm struggling to remember a great final where two teams from the same country were in it.
