Fame must have it's downside. Imagine not being able to go anywhere without being mobbed!

So here are my predictions for the two teams to qualify from each group

Group A Netherlands, Senegal
Group B England, Wales
Group C Argentina, Mexico
Group D France, Denmark
Group E Germany, Spain
Group F Belgium, Croatia
Group G Brazil, Serbia
Group H Portugal, Uraguay

Looks like a possible England v Netherlands game of last 16,
France in quarters,
Argentina in semi's
could we get Brazil or Germany in the final?

It WON'T be coming home.

Good man Memphis, we need a sane thread :)

Group A : Netherlands, Ecuador (Ecuador are a good young team, Senegal are poor for me even though they're AFCON champions.)
Group B : England, Who knows?! (Iran are one of the better teams from that part of the world. Market hasn't formed to get out of the group yet but I might go for whoever the outsider is)
Group C : Argentina, Mexico
Group D : France, Denmark
Group E : Spain, Germany
Group F : Belgium, Canada (Best Canada team ever probably with some very talented players) Sportsbook have Canada at 11/4 to qualify from group, probably be 6 on the exchange :D
Group G : Brazil, Serbia
Group H : Uruguay, Portugal

Winner : Brazil. Very strong all over the park.
Dark horses : Netherlands at 17. Proven coach at this level and a very good team.
Honourable mentions : Argentina. Good young coach and some very good players coming through.
Biggest flop : France. Poor showing at the Euros. When an international coach stays too long after a period of success it usually turns to crap. See Low at Germany.

I’m not so sure about that, happy to be proved wrong though

What about that Group E? I'd say the group of death :o
Germany
Spain
Japan
*Costa Rica (hopefully or New Zealand)

Could we have the new World Champion here?

pretty crazy that qatari came out with this attack on fc barcelona at the same and how they were going to buy espanyol as a reaction to FCB corruption and win la liga to spite them. all of this sportwashing in the wake of this arrest and murder of brit in qatar. liz truss met with him other day as well and didnt make a peep about it.

Sorry for this but I haven't been paying attention. The fact that homosexuality in Qatar is punishable by up to 3 years imprisonment takes my breath away.
I'm not gay. But the concept of imprisoning someone for their (adult) sexual preference beggars belief.

It's the fact that FIFA has absolutely zero ethics and allowed the WC to go there that astonishes me.

You seem keen to deny it. ;)

Only to clarify that I'm not complaining from a particular viewpoint, except than that of a human being. We are (and I reckon Qatar is) better than criminalising peope for what they prefer to do in their bedroom's, who they walk down the street hand in hand with etc.

Although I do like Dusty Sprngfield and Shirley Bassey. Doh!!!!

It was common in the UK to be thrown in prison not all that long ago.

Also, it was not very nice being in the Armed Forces back in the 1980's if you were gay.

My view on this, rightly or wrongly the WC is in Qatar, if you decide to go then probably best to adhere to their rules/laws etc however out of step you think they may be. Otherwise you will possibly be in for one hell of a bad time locked up in god knows where.
