Where can I find stats on 0-0 games/season?

Football, Soccer - whatever you call it. It is the beautiful game.

Hi,

Anyone know where I can find out how many games end goaless?

I have read that roughly 27% of games end in a draw, but I want to start LTD strategy and would like to know what percentage of games roughly finish goaless. I think 0-0's seem to be reasonably rare, but I'd like to put a number on it before chucking real money at it :ugeek:

TIA :)

Is there "goal times" in this data? or can I find that anywhere else do you know?

Goal time data can also be downloaded from this thread to
viewtopic.php?f=54&t=14776

I don't think its been updated for the last season or two (for that you'll need to use Realrocknrolla's suggestion) but it does have data going back about 15 years for the major leagues around the world

On a similar subject, if you don't mind me using your thread Brovashift, does anyone have an explanation of what makes one league's average goals per match so much higher than another? Does MLS have crap defences compared to a Brazilian rock-solid defence or is it down to overall style of play, risk-taking, etc?

Outside the very top teams South American football is just awful to watch. As soon as a team goes 1-0 up they retreat to 5-4-1 formations and waste inordinate amount of time through fake injuries and playacting.

Cheers James. The football may be awful to watch but thankfully the o/u ladders add a bit of excitment. :)
