Could someone please confirm whether or not my understanding of the handicap markets on Betfair is correct.

I'm talking about the +1, +2, +3 football markets.

In this example, England start the match with a 1 goal advantage.

If the full time result (before applying the handicap) is Hungary 1 England 0 would the winning selection be the draw?

As far as I can tell this should be correct as after the handicap is applied the result would be 1-1.

Yes you have it understood correctly, the handicap on 1 team is a head start for the other so when the game kicks off England are already winning 1-0 and only need a draw to beat their handicap as they have the 1 goal head start. Hungary would need to win by at least 2 goals to beat their handicap as they start the game a goal behind England.
