Is someone cheating?

Football, Soccer - whatever you call it. It is the beautiful game.

Speaking of actual thieves... someone just msged me off forum to say their BF account was hacked. The thieving hacker backed some 1.01 stuff and then cleaned out their account, now they're waiting on support to retrieve the acc, not sure about the money. They did not use 2 step auth or know about it.

Maybe should do a new thread PSA but for all those that still don't have 2 step auth, please get it asap : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x76Zet62Is
Y, I enabled this on my account recently. More authentication steps are annoying but necessary these days obviously.

I find it annoying the way Betfair insist on taking me to the Sportsbook when I logon

Unless you can prove the exact time of the goal and the time your bet was matched what do you expect betfair to do? Perhaps it was a misclick, you say they matched your lay bet on both teams?

It's the risk you take trading these markets. Presumably if you're laying at 8 about something that is 18+ you're hoping someone makes a mistake so your bet gets matched?

How can I compare all this? I know the time of the goal based on the broadcast, the time of the matching of the bet is not indicated on the exchange, the time of the suspension is also unknown to me second by second. And even if everything was known, I would not prove anything to them because they answered me that everything is OK
But it is clear that the bet was smart.
With difficulty but under 'Betting Activity....Betting History.....Settled bets' you can see when you placed the bet. Get the ID of the bet and ask betfair the for exact time the bet was submitted and the time is was matched, without more info no-one can help you

The bet wasn't that 'smart' if they also backed the team and matched your lay bet on the team that conceded the goal
I've just had a look at the OP again. Laid each team at 8 and backed the draw at 1.23. I think it's unlikely anyone would have backed the losing side at 8 so perhaps a lay on the draw at 1.15 would have cross-matched by backing both teams at 8, before the draw price hit and took his 1.23 back bet.

On my PC I go to the exchange site to log on and it stays there... https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/ Works on my phone too but no idea what that points to.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I append my password with the auth code rather than entering the password and then the auth code on the next screen. eg MyPassword123456

Plenty of international football tonight but none of it is on BLV or a major TV channel. Should be a good night for the cheats. ;)

Somebody tried to deceive me in the Scotland match by accepting my bet on under just before a goal. Luckily I managed to cheat somebody else and close trade in time. What a bunch of swindlers we all are. :D

You shoulda done that much sooner honestly, from day one really, it's an absolute must have.

As for the OP, just take the L and move on. Try not to have such a negative outlook, it can only discourage you from looking for opportunities. And that's the last thing you want.
