All unmatched backs, no matter how small, with Take SP selected, will get matched at BFSP. I've been doing it for years. Lays must be £10 liability minimum.
Have they changed the rules? I've had greenup back bets with BSP persistence not matched in the past. I assumed it was because it was less than £2.
actually, no, i'll correct what I think I said!
So to Back using TakeSP with 1p is easy, you just back 1p at 1000.0, as that's a payout of £10, so is valid. I suspect if you tried to Back at 180 TakeSP with 1p it would lapse unmatched.
I think you've got that the wrong way around. Laying a penny at 1000 would have a payout of £10, but if it's liability (which I think is more likely), you'd need to go as high as two pence. :)

I'm a footie trader now so it's been a while since I've been messing with BSP. But I thought (when the minimum was £2), £2 was the minimum bet (back or lay) to be accepted at BSP.

In other words, if you lay at 6.0 for £2 and set the bet to "take SP" if not matched, if BSP <= 6, bet match. If BSP > 6, bet not matched because the back stake would be less than £2.

That said though, I've never used BSP much so I'm open to correction.

Nope, there's no liability/payout condition with backs. Mine today was placed at 300 odds. Why don't you spend a penny or 10 tomorrow experimenting to see what happens?

In other words, if you lay at 6.0 for £2 and set the bet to "take SP" if not matched, if BSP <= 6, bet match. If BSP > 6, bet not matched because the back stake would be less than £2.

That's £10 lay liability (6.0-1)x£2, so if BSP is say 11.0, you would get £1 match which is reconciled against £1 worth of someone else's Back TakeSP.

My understanding was, if the back side of the bet didn't amount to £2 it didn't get matched, it was ignored. But as weemac says, do a few experiments. I may be wrong or the rules may have changed since I was trading horse racing.

Actual SP Back bets have to be at £1 plus, and lays have to be at a liability of £10+ to be accepted as 'SP' bets, in my experience. They are also non-cancellable once accepted into BF system. This is different to bets entered into the market with a 'take SP' setting.
