The included warnings for 5 minutes, 60 seconds etc are useful, but I'd like more. Can we add more, or are we stuck with the ones already included (which I know can be adjusted)?
thanks
Can we add more alerts/warnings on countdown?
You can't add any additional ones to the 'Sound Alert' tab of your settings
But you can just create an automation file with a 'Alert (Play sound/show message) rule, and configure it to trigger whenever you want

Thanks, yes but I noticed a few times the BF video is quite a bit behind so I assumed the API to BA is the fastest (most up to date) ping of them going in play.
But I am not just talking about in play alert. I wanted to try making some custom alerts for various time periods before the off.
Thanks. To be honest I am not confident at getting into the clever technical stuff (automation) just yet, wanted to keep it simple and just have a few dings at specific points before the off. I will have a look at those links though, just not sure I'm ready to go deeped into the developery stuffDallas wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2025 5:36 pmYou can't add any additional ones to the 'Sound Alert' tab of your settings

Edit - I had a look through the links, not as 'technical' as I was expecting, I should be able to sort something that way. cheers

Betfair put races into play manually using a video feed usually very similar to the BFL stream. As they do it manually, you'll usually find races get put into play a few seconds behind you seeing it on the BFL stream.Blondie wrote: ↑Sat Jan 04, 2025 10:55 amThanks, yes but I noticed a few times the BF video is quite a bit behind so I assumed the API to BA is the fastest (most up to date) ping of them going in play.

That's what I was talking about. Specific times are of limitted use especially in winter. If you're a manual trader then just use the pics to see when they're in the ring, going down and any other key time you want to be aware of.
Eg and I think Peter alluded to it recently, money arrives when punters get to see the horses rather than at a certain time. Looking at some data I see that at - 2min almost 30% of the total market vol is still yet to arrive. But it's 2mins on avg and the kick in late vol coincides with real world events.
Tricky to automate but if you're sat with eyes-on then knowing what's going on is a easy.
I see thanks.
From what I've seen, money seems to arrive at around 5 mins, and then just after 2. I just wanted to make some alarm bells to burst my ear drums at say 5:20 and 2:10, just to remind me! I get the logic re the pics being the determining factor. Trouble is these BF videos are shite! Some are excellent, the others are terrible, or don't show any runners at all, just reruns of their previous races with no commentary! So I thought it would still be of some use to set an alarm for the two periods where i see some spikes of volume. I have a digital egg timer here so maybe that's the workaround!
