Interesting market in one of the lead up tournaments. John-Patrick Smith - ranked 318 in the world is at around $2.70 against Tennys Sandgren - ranked 50 in the world. Of course John-Patrick Smith is an Aussie who has not had to quarantine while Sandgren has come out of hard lockdown with no access to training facilities. Still, it seems like very generous odds for Smith. Has the market overreacted to the effects of quarantine? Or does it really make that much difference that a player ranked 250 places below another can be priced so short? Interested to hear what you guys think.
