Can''t see much beyond Medvedev now.
Hard court doesn't suit Nadal, so he's out.
Wouldn't discount Zverev. With Novak out and Nadal unable, he may up his game.
But he'd need to up his game a lot. I can't see how an elite athlete can suddenly go up that far in a couple of weeks.
An interesting aspect of Novak's departure is the sudden realisation for his opponents that they have a real chance of a slam.
Agree about Medvedev. His biggest challenger could be Covid, one positive test and he's gone.

If that happens then its wide open for me.

Anyone know how the seeding works now? Does everybody's seed move up one or does somebody take the place of Djokovic's number one seed?

Feel as if I'm taking the tread off-topic now. :D

It's all water under the bridge now but I still feel happy every time the Sky newsreader reminds me that Djokovic has been sent home. :D

Lucky loser, Salvatore Caruso, get's the Djoker's spot (effectively the #1 seed position). Seeds are not adjusted post announcement of playing schedule.

That makes sense, it would be far too late to change the draw. Perhaps Kecmanović is the lucky one. He must have been resigned to going out with first-round prize money and praying Djokovic's visa gets cancelled!

Sky News is still banging on about Djokovic's deportation, they won't let him forget it. :D

I had to laugh at the hashtag splattered all over the safety net behind him as he was practicing

I'm surprised Raducanu is still favourite. Her form has been disastrous and Sloane Stephens loves the big occasions

Djokovic's gone home to a hero's welcome. Not quite sure why!

That was always a 1.01 chance

His family and Serbian politicians have made him a nationalist icon

I only heard on the TV yesterday about getting dumped out the 'Sydney International' in 55mins 6-0, 6-1
That's a disastrous way to go into the open

He probably has the loudest hard core set of fans of any player on the circuit, I'm surprised we haven't seen more images of them gathering around and hailing his statue these last few days

It doesn't look like he'll get the chance to defend his French Open title either. The French sports minister has said that athletes won't be exempt from the Covid pass that's coming into effect. I wonder who'll be PM when Wimbledon comes around? :)

Hope I'm wrong but I'm not sure Federer or Nadal have another slam in them so even if Djokovic had to wait until 2023 for #21 I'd fancy him to do it.

Now that he knows he can't get away with it, we'll soon find out what's really important to him, remaining unjabbed or another Grand Slam. :)
