You also need to examine the expectancy overall. Something with a 98% chance of winning a match has much less chance of reaching odds of 2.00 than something priced at 1.95. So its the expectancy that balances everything else out.

Globi166, I think you might be conflating the liability on a bet and the expectancy of a move. Tick steps are non linear so it's not just the size of the move but where it starts....

Yes, so if something is with a 98% chance of winning a match you would be looking at much smaller moves hence staking by fixes liability makes sense.

Like trading out on 0-15 or 0-30 instead waiting for a brake. As this move will pay 30-40% of your liability.

I believe I understand it now—does this way of thinking seem correct?
