To kick things off, we have this wierd spectacle of a mixed doubles grand slam tournament, that isn't really a grand slam mixed doubles tournament. Very American!

Really narrows the prizemoney to the top players and must be horrific for the fringe 'doubles specialists' who probably survive thanks to the big tournaments. If this goes well, i'm sure the other tournaments will be pressured to go the same way?

Tauson looking like could be a 1.01 loser. Completely lost it in 3rd set, was 5-1 up.

I unfortunately didn't catch any of the 3rd, small loss on 1st, bigger green on 2nd.
Focus had turned elsewhere, just saw the score slowly turning

Djokovic still has the wobbles. Often a good trade nowadays.

It's been a tournament for favourites so far. If you had backed the favourite to a profit target of £100, you would have returned £655 so far.

Not exactly great trading wise I guess?

Fine for me, although I am more on the women side then the men.
I'd rather the 3 sets then the 5 as it's more BAU like rest of year.

Alcaraz was just too strong and too good for Djokovic.

Agreed. Considering Alcaraz hadn't beaten him on hard court before, for every plink shot Alcaraz played, Djoko played a plonk. The old guard in tennis are definitely on the way out.
Great game though, 2hrs in and Alcaraz acing at 138mph in the tie break is crazy stamina. It'd be very interesting to see a tennis player vs a clean pro cyclist on the treadmill with all the wires and tubes to see who has the better endurance/cardio/recovery times etc. Not interesting for most people but for some of us nerds it'd be interesting

You think it would be close? I don't doubt some of the male tennis players are in great shape but i don't think it would be close vs pro cyclists. The VO2 maxes on those guys are insane. Or is this a trick because there are no clean pro cyclists?
