Yeah interesting, thanks. I'm surprised the market missed it for so long, but have to wonder why he's sharing it.

Did you stumble upon the article or does the author have a presence elsewhere?

I just found it while messing around online. He has two other articles up but they're about pretty basic stuff if you've been trading tennis for a while. No idea who the guy is.

You'll probably enjoy this one also. Not really anything new but always nice to read something thats puts the data together for you. I also quite like thier site for data as they have some bits and peices that other do not.

FYI - Ogolem - Twarda - Ziemia - Trawa are polish for All surface - Hard - Clay - Grass respectively.

I have masses of tennis data, so it would be possible for me to be able to backtest this. I'm currently working on other stuff, so I can't look at it immediately, but I can have a look and see if I can come up with something in the near future.

The ability to take the first set from another player improves during the clay court season.

Early days still!

Are you using the ranking-consistency filter mentioned in the article?

The author also mentioned he filters on the price of the favourite going into set 3.

No, to be fair I'm just using 2nd fav rather than any ranking as that is the only bit that requires effort to get into BA. The author says that cutting the favs when they are higher ranked "improves the strategy meaningfully", so I'm taking that to mean it makes the strategy less profitable rather than turning it into an overall loss.
