French Open 2024 - Roland Garros
I must admit, I thought he was done.
I layed him at 6 greened up at 8
I layed him again at 8.4 and traded out at 4
Lost £21

It's very difficult to expect a 37 year-old to be playing 5 sets at 3am and then ask him to come back 36 hours later to play another 5 set match. He looked stiff as a board at one point
The pressure on the best players is huge. Football is currently saying 3 days recovery is OK but 2 is pushing the limits. 2 5 setters.
He fiinshed on Sunday at 3am after 4.5 hrs (ie 3 footy games where it's you and the opponent, no loafing about while the ball is over the side) and was back on court on Monday and won.
Thats not just professional - it's superhuman.
But it looks like they schedule (and too much clay
) broke him.
Shame I like watching him. But it gives the next generation a shot at a major.

come join me in the ATP/WTA 125 & 250 world, rain delays at points force players to play again on the same day with a few hours break.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2024 6:01 pmThe pressure on the best players is huge. TEAM INFO. Novak Djokovic decided to have meniscus surgery this Wednesday morning in Paris. His unavailability should last at least three weeks and deprive him of Wimbledon. His participation in the Olympics will depend on his reaction to this intervention.
Injuries like that can be far more difficult to recover from as you get older. That reminds me of Federer. He took some time out after Wimbledon for what was considered a relatively minor knee problem, but we never saw him again
