I don't really think that can become a full-time real currency alternative.

And some people think this is a currency. It's no better than a Polly Peck share.

Funnily enough mine is all in an offline ledger except £500 which I left on an exchange earlier this year just so I could put it on a debit card from them.
Since then I've spent around £150 of it but when I last looked I've still have a little more than I started with :)

BTC went mental from around midnight UK time for a few hours on the back of that
and it had just recovered to where it was a week or so ago before the hacked twitter post that it was not going ahead caused it to tumble

Same happened today when the US Stock market opened and the ETF's started trading (14:00 GMT), it shot up and came back down again, that's Bitcoin for ya ;)

Yeah - these tokens have done amazingly well over the last yr especially.

I am now 5% net worth invested, having accumulated over last 2 yrs.

Wouldnt surprise me to lose 50% - or even gain 50% in next 5yrs.

when it broke 32k in october '23, i started accumulating again after a 2 year period of indecision. as you say, it's definitely poised to take a leap in either direction in the coming months/year.

I only took my first leap last January but since have started acquiring some alt currencies too, but this week my BTC investment doubled.
It was always meant as a long term investment for me, sort of see where were at in 10ys-15yrs

Be interesting too see what happens in April when its halved again, many saying its probably going to double again or even more by the end of 2024
