As we move through Kentucky Derby weekend we thought a good time to take a look at liquidity in US racing - we can see a marked difference in US tracks now enjoying TPD coverage, to the previous situation.

At Churchill Downs yesterday evening the Kentucky Oaks enjoyed just shy of £70k matched volume.
Of the twelve races on the card five races posted matched volumes north of £30k, with a further three races posting over £20k and eleven of the 12 races having in excess of £10k matched volume. The one sub £10k race got pretty close at £9.3k.

The figures above are the the total of pre-race and in-play.

If you want to take a break from the other big event taking place today! the Derby meeting starts 17:04 BST with the Kentucky Derby itself going to post at 11:57 BST and may be well worth your attention.

23:57 BST, incase anyone thinks they've missed it. ;)

I'm surprised the volumes are closer to the Greyhound derby figures than a decent horse race.

I find it interesting that Aiden O Brien has not won this or Breeders Cup Classic, surely he would have had the ammunition at some point, Clive Brittain nearly knocked it off a long time ago.
