Tiger goes off at 75 for the title.

Not tempted to put my mortgage on that!

Interestng 1st day. I doubt Smith can sustain this. Johnson is a different proposition. How he finishes his round could be a good indicator.
Great to see Tiger back and looking competent.
But most of all I just love the pictures from Augusta as the afternoon wears on and the shadows of the trees start to turn the course into some sort of abstract art work.

Scheffler is a player who scores far better than his stats suggest he should. This will test him though...

Passed it with flying colours... difficult for the field with breaks like that....

Could be the first ever winner with 4 rounds under 70

A few false shots from 13 onwards and he still scores like that.

Well I usually heavily lay the field at 6s on the first 2 days (and Rory and Westwood at ANY price!). This worked well with Smith on Day 1 (locked in £112 on Smiths lay-to-back) but I got absolutely smashed last night with Scottie Scheffler, and even though I was watching live from -5, and suspected he'd birdie at least the par 5 coming back, I just couldn't bring myself to cut my losses when he was just over 3s... A few holes later and I'm sat with a massive red as he drew closer to 2... I was convinced that Matsuyama or Niemann would catch him, but they just missed putt after putt.

So... though my gut was telling me that he'll trade higher than 2.12 in play, finally I had to have a word with myself today and accepted a mid-3-figure loss to cash in, then dutched Scottie, DJ and Matsuyama, all to give small 2-figure wins with high-3-figure reds on the rest of the field.

I just can not see Scheffler dropping a shot and he is clearly way ahead of the field in form and consistency at present. I really like his attitude too! I hope he continues to expand his lead. I think he's off around 8pm UK time, so will watch with interest!

It would require a huge blowup for him not to win it.

He is full of confidence at the moment as well and, as we know, in golf that counts for a lot.

I'll still squeeze in a lay on him at some point though. But purely speculative and entirely dependant on what is happening in front of him.

Indeed. If the field closes, then he''ll be ripe for a L2B, even before he reaches the first tee!

A 72 ish today makes it interesting though if the field go hard and at least 2 or 3 or more maybe Smith, Zalatoris, Johnson, Hideki score well. Weather is cold today though.

Yes, I can see anything under par being a result today, should be fun!

Historically, 4 out of the 5 previous players that held a 5 shot lead after 36 holes went on to win. And I see no reason to expect any different with Scottie this time.
