Being a few hundred milliseconds earlier may matter more than having a slightly better model.
Maybe the real edge is in being slower
If enough similar systems hit the same side at once you could get moves that are stronger than the underlying information justified so perhaps the edge wouldn’t literally be in being slow but in operating on a different timescale from the crowd.
