Betangel is new to me and I only came across it a few weeks ago. Amazing software!
I have automated my horse racing lay system into Guardian, but I lack the knowledge to complete it as per my rules. I have read up on the forums, but I apologise for my stupidity – I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO IT. Please help!
The process is as follows: I identify the races in the morning, which can range from a few races to double digits depending on the day. The lays are completed by Betangel throughout the day following my rules. This has been executed with perfection! The next step is the section where I am unable to finish and need some help, please.
I want the system to stop laying bets when it reaches a profit point that I have set. For example, the system does the lays and has wins and losses, but as soon as it hits X points and or £ value, it stops trading. Likewise, if it encounters a predetermined loss (X points and or £ value), it will cease trading. Currently, Guardian executes all the bets according to my rules, but I need to incorporate the win and loss part. Full-time work makes it impossible to track progress throughout the day and keep a record of wins/losses. If someone could write this for me, it would be greatly appreciated. I am more than willing to pay for the service. Let me know. Thanks
Or copy the rules into your existing file
Then just place two Stored Value conditions into a group (on the rule/s that you want to stop from triggering) and select the option where 'one or more of the conditions must be true'
https://www.betangel.com/user-guide/gro ... tions.html
And configure one condition to test the stored value for Bet Angel named 'Total_Profit' is greater than -£ Whatever loss amount you want to set
and configure the other to test the stored value for Bet Angel named 'Total_Profit' is less than £ Whatever profit amount you want to set

Hi all, I'm stuck and need some help, please.
I choose specific races to lay my bets on according to my system rules. Once a certain profit target for the day is reached, I need the automation to stop. When a cumulative loss is reached, the same applies to stopping laying bets. My settings have been attached, but it is clear that they are incorrect because the system continues after either as been reached. Yesterday, system continued after the profit target has been reached. Thank you in advance.

Yeah, you shoud remove the sign, but why do you store 'Total Profit' in that lay bet rule, look at Dallas' original file that you should store 'Total Profit' when market is already closed and suspended too.

You should be storing Total_Profit = Total_Profit + the profit from this market.
Then using Total_Profit must be greater than X and lower than Y as a condition in your trading rules.

Best combine it all into one file.
Hi James, I hope you're doing well. Would you mind taking a look at the settings, please? The system experienced a loss of £206.83 at 3:02 Charles Town, so it should stop all future bets. It placed a wager on the race that followed, 3:07 Evangeline Downs. Although it was successful, it should have stopped trading following the predetermined loss of £200. After that, I had a few more races and the system carried on as usual. The £200 loss was re-achieved and more bets were placed after that. I have looked at your settings from all angles, but unfortunately, my knowledge of Bet Angel and programming means I have no idea what to change to make it work. I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Thanks James and Dallas.
I now have a profits and loss system, which I couldn't have done alone.
It works great, until I put on "screen lock" when I leave my computer for a few hours.
I've had this problem for ages, the "log" never records whilst "screen lock" is activated, therefore can't calculate profit and loss. The only info I get is time the races start.
Without "screen lock" I get the full log readout, but I need "screen lock".
Anyone got any ideas which setting I should try on my Windows 10 please?
Many thanks,

Best attach your rulesfile here then someone can have a look and spot the issue.reebed1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 5:03 amHi James, I hope you're doing well. Never heard of this issue before. Perhaps make sure your background app permissions are set correctly? https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/win ... windows_10Oscar wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 1:06 pmThanks James and Dallas.

I've just saw the PM's from you as but it takes some time for me to get to them due to the amount I get from people, it looks like James will have already answered this now in his example file.reebed1 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:34 amHi all, I'm stuck and need some help, please.

But in case not going back to the messages and my instructions given in the quotes above as images can't be sent via PM the conditions on the rule/s you want to stop triggering should look like this
Its not to clear exactly what values you wanted so for the purposes of illustration those conditions would stop your rul triggering if your profit exceeded £210 or your loss exceeded -£200

Dear Dallas, thank you for the reply.
You quoted: Its not to clear exactly what values you wanted so for the purposes of illustration those conditions would stop your rule triggering if your profit exceeded £210 or your loss exceeded -£200
Just to make sure:
if your profit exceeded £210. You have the setting as less than or equal to. Should this not be greater than or equal to? Profit reaches £210 or more, system stops laying bets.
or your loss exceeded -£200. You have setting as greater than or equal to. I agree with this. Losses reaches £200 plus, system stops.
Thank you.
