Not sure why I am having so much difficulty greening up markets. I've never really used any greening rules before, but I'm finding I get errors and greening failure in about 10-20% of markets.
I've tried using 'Green all selections' applied to 'any selection':
"An error occurred while Greening Up XXXX (stage 3S): The entire order has been rejected."
I've tried using 'Close trade on selection with greening' applied to 'every selection':
"An error occurred while Placing closure bet with greening on XXXXX Backing 0.85 at 6.8 [stage 3S]: The entire order has been rejected."
All I want to do is reliably green up just before off-time, in the same way as it does if I manually click on 'trade profit' with 'green' box checked on the one-click screen. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?
Greening issues
I had to completely alter my greening up methods after several years because of that message. It would appear apparently at random, and left me exposed too often for comfort. I wish there was some kind of rationale given for these error messages so we could investigate further, and do something about them.
I had a bit of a breakthrough with greening up a couple of weeks ago. I used to find it tempremental in my automations. Sometimes it was fine but quite a lot it would fire too many times and frustratingly make a loss because too many lay bets were triggered.
So what I do now is.
Create a rule to green all selections (any selection) every 10 secs
With an additional condition...
Lay bets amount matched =£0
I also have another rule to cancel all unmatched bets that runs every 5 secs
This ensures I don't end up accidentally running multiple greenup lay bets.
This has turned a corner for me

Thanks for the responses. This gives me a few things to try, like cancelling any remaining unmatched bets before greening up, or perhaps greening up each selection individually rather than all at once?
I now create SV's with the cash liabilities for every selection (signals already applied to distinguish strategies, and extra linked SV's to allow for P&L), then divide the liabilities into several portions and back/lay these smaller liabilities every x seconds, with repeated final tiny 'close trade' green-ups a few seconds before post time. A bit convoluted to create, but that's been working perfectly for months now.
Greening up at regular intervals might mean you are 'greening up' when the price goes the wrong way resulting in an 'overall' losssibur wrote: ↑Mon Nov 27, 2023 11:40 pmI had a bit of a breakthrough with greening up a couple of weeks ago. I only do it when the condition green all profit is at the required amount. If you greenup once it may be fine but sudden fluctuations may require more greening. My method protects me from over greening.
I'm not telling you what to do. It works for me and I thought I'd share it.

Yes of course , I just wanted to highlight the pitfalls of just 'greening' at regular intervalssibur wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 6:53 pmI only do it when the condition green all profit is at the required amount. without any other considerations

I have to say, what’s the difference between BA green up and BF cash out. As the later seems to work every time unlike the former ?

Presumably there's no way to cash out using Bet Angel automation?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 7:41 pmI have to say, what’s the difference between BA green up and BF cash out. As the later seems to work every time unlike the former ?

That's greening which, as per discussion, is unfortunately prone to regular failure. "An error occurred while Greening Up XXXX (stage 3S): The entire order has been rejected."Bobajob wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 10:25 pm"Green All Selections" rulejamesedwards wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 10:13 pmPresumably there's no way to cash out using Bet Angel automation?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 7:41 pmI have to say, what’s the difference between BA green up and BF cash out. Out of 53 greyhound markets this evening greening failed 18 times, despite attempting it twice in every market. Always with the 'stage 3S' error.

Are you employing the rule correctly ?jamesedwards wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2023 10:27 pmThat's greening which, as per discussion, is unfortunately prone to regular failure.
