Hello.
I have recently started placing bets on the late night US racing and some selected Aussie races, so this past couple of nights have had the main desktop in the house running into the early morning and set to shut off after the last race.
This solution is fine but its not ideal, the main PC is set up in my front room and ttheres plenty of times I'd rather it just be turned off. Its a pretty beefy machine that was built for gaming with a 4th gen i7, 16gb ram, multiple SSD's, 980ti etc so its not silent even with the watercooling. I've tried setting up hot keys to put it into low power mode but its fiddly as hell, you can silence al lthe fans easily enough but I'd much rather only have this thing running when I'm using it.
I have a laptop that has been gathering dust for months, it would be ideal if I could instal bet angel on there aswell, transfer the spreadsheets over and then leave it running somewhere else in the house I'll never have to visit at night. Thing is I want to use the main computer during the day for trading big events from time to time, I'd like to be able to shut down the laptop and run bet angel off the PC like normal, is this going to cause problems? Am I even allowed to do it?
Bet Angel on multiple devices, same internet connection.

I'm reluctant just to test this for myself incase there is a software licensing issue or one with betfair.
edit- missed that reply. thank you!

Yes, you can, and I have tried it but comms are the problem.
I have it set re: Peter's video on the subject of set-up and get a figure of 20 interactions per second, or whatever you call it.
When I set up a laptop to run some automation, the highest figure on each machine was 10, so from my experience, each machine takes a share.
If comms speed is not a big issue, then there will be no problem.
I expect 3 machines would do the same, with each running at 6 - 7 interactions per second.
Remember you can set each machine to poll BetFair at a different rate, so the least-active machine could be set slower.

The 20 data calls per second limit was stopped a while ago you can now run as much as you want (within reason) i often have upto 5 instances of bet angel open across a few comps (some running in practice mode) and also on a VPS with all refreshing at 200ms using the same Betfair account.Woolfold wrote:Yes, you can, and I have tried it but comms are the problem.

The only thing to be aware of now is the number of transactions per which betfair limit to 1000 before then charging a few pence for each one over that
There is a more detailed post on the transaction counter here
