Not sure if there is a way to do this.

basically, I am testing laying horses below 2.9.

Before the lay bet goes down, can a condition and signal be added to first check if other horses are steaming ahead and 'likely' to drop below 2.9.

If it can be done, I would prob test at 2.04 too.

Not sure if far reaching a question though wondered if the bot can detect steamers before laying a bet.

sure, you can set up a signal to monitor ANY runner and then increment it if it is trading below ActualSP AND also that its Historic odds are less than the odds 5 seconds ago by say 3-4 ticks (similarly, you'd decrement the signal if this ceases to be the case). Then, when you have 1 or 2 runners that are displaying this behaviour at the same time and the signal value is greater than 5 (for example), you can flag your lay candidate and then based on your other conditions, kick off the lay bet when you have everything tied as expected.

Yes this can be done, a few existing bots already use the 'historical relative odds conditions' as part of them, the one below recently added last week

and an actual steamer bot

For what your wanting the steamer bot would likely be the easy to modify/copy simply by changing the rule to lay the 2nd fav rather than back the fav if there is a steam

Thanks for the help.
Great idea "changing the rule to lay the 2nd fav rather than back the fav if there is a steam". Okay will try that too.
I have a strict selection process and do not just select every race.
BUT seems mostly the lay bet hits the winning horse at that point as it steams to 2.0 and below, but also many times, it is beaten.
So I want to set up a condition to check that another fav is steaming enough to challenge the 1st fav.
Or laying the 2nd fav instead. With a similar condition.

I am looking for a condition to guard against the chosen horse taking a lay bet and then just steaming ahead and winning.
Not sure but tried this as I only want the lay bet on the 2nd fav to go down if the last traded price of the 1st fav is less than the 2nd by 5 ticks.

So I tried:
Historic relative odds condition
Nominated in position 1 in order of favouritism
Selection A lay price now
is less than
Selection B position 2 in order of favouritism
Selection B last traded price
Now
Plus 5 ticks

Do let me know if that makes sense and if it needs tweaking.

Essentially, if the 2nd fav is drifting and the lay price now higher than the first fav, 5 ticks, may be ok..

One try and the bot did not kick in.

Or perhaps a condition on the 1st fav is better i.e. no lay bet if it is steaming in comparison to the 2nd and 3rd favs.

Not really getting the use of signals at the moment, just need to go over it though maybe ok without.

any feedback welcome.
