You would use the 'Fix Market Order' rule type to start with and trigger it just before your main lay bets are set to.

Then create a lay rule applied to 'Betfair order of favourtism' 3
and another applied to 'Betfair order of favourtism' 4

To exit if it goes against you you can either use
Close trade on selection with greening applied to 'Betfair order of favourtism' 3
With the following condition
Fixed odds condition
Selection 'Betfair order of favourtism' 3
Last traded price is less than 2.02

and duplicate that rule type and make one for the 4th fav

OR

Create a back bet rule applied to 'Betfair order of favourtism' 3
With the following condition
Fixed odds condition
Selection 'Betfair order of favourtism' 3
Last traded price is less than 2.02

and duplicate that rule type and make one for the 4th fav

Lay 3rd fav and back if goes against you.baf
Hi Dallas,

Please have a look at the attached .baf file and modify to achieve what i'm trying to do.

I want to lay 3rd fav and back if the bet goes against me, I am having problems greening out which is important if the selection goes and looses leaving me with a hefty loss.

Thank you in advance for all your help.

Dallas

Can you assist.

I have automation running and with "Close Trade on selection", works well but the bot keeps chugging away after. Is there any way to close trade and stop trades being made.

Normally i have an eye on this but today (in practice mode), I let it run. the result was the trade and the close trade fighting each other until post time.

Its set to green up if the odds go against you and drop to 2.0
If you want to change this to a back bet and add a larger stake in hope the odds keep shortening then just change the rule type to a back bet and reduce number of triggers to 1 (everything else can be left as is)

Try in practice mode till your happy with it

Dallas,
Thank you, all works perfect.
What I want to add to this is say a back bet of £50 pounds, so when it goes against me I want to place a back at 2.00 and immediately green up.
Now, the rule works well, unfortunately the rule is in red. thus making a loss, is it possible to add the back bet to the rule.

Thanks

You can change the close trade rule to a back bet rule as detailed in the post above but you cant just green up immedietly for a profit.
Assume you layed at 4.0 for £10 (£30 liability)
If you then back at 2.0 for £50 you still need the odds to shorten to 1.50 just to break even

If instead of continuing to shorten after touching 2.0 the odds then drift out your then facing upto a -£40 loss whats your plans then?

Hi Dallas,
Please have a look at the attached. baf file.
Both lay bets work fine, when greening out it only greens out on the 3rd fav and not the 4th fav. (i.e. its letting me green out on one and not the other, have I missed something out?)
If you can please help fix the file, I would be most grateful.
Thank you,
Paul

Im not sure what it is your wanting to do?

Your fixing the market order but applying the lay bet to Betfair row 1 (not order of favourtism)
There is only one rule placing a lay bet (this is on the runner in Betfair row 1)
The back bet rule your using as a stop loss also on placed on row 1 but is highy unlikely to trigger as the lay would of first needed to trigger several ticks below evens, then while still trading at odds below 2.06 trade on a price that will give a profit of exactly £1

Dallas, I want to say lay the 3rd and 4th in betfair order and both priced above say 10.00. If the price of either 3rd or 4th shortens to say 2.00, I want to close trade or green out.
Im using 2.00 as an example to close trade, please suggest?

What happening its closing on one and not the other, I want close on either one when the price shortens.

Please help,

Thanks,
Paul

The rule you have just attached is not doing any of that or anything like it.

The rule i ammended for you last week and attached on the previous page of this thread will just need the condition below adding to the lay 3rd fav rule type;

Fixed odds cond
Selections last traded price
is greater than 10

Then that rule type and the close rule just need duplicating (by highlighting them and clicking the two green arrows) and change the applies to selection 'Betfair order of favourtism 4' for each of them
