Well I have been unwell for quite some time so I can only allow myself one beer tonight during the England game. The wife and daughter are off out so it's just me and my son for some Father and Son bonding and a good old shouting at the referee....it has to be done

I am going to have small amounts on 2-0 and 3-0 for financial interest and look to trade out mid game.

I hope he plays Robert Green in goal as I worry that being dropped could dent his future confidence and any of the keepers could have made a mistake like that. My choice would be Joe Hart but now Green has been selected for the opener I think Fabio should stick with him.

I heard on the BBC that they believe Calamity James is keeper tonight and that some bookies have suspended betting on him...we'll see!

Well you've heard of Don Quixote and now it is Don QuiHeskey.

Sorry but I don't understand it he is so out of form he doesn't warrant a place in the squad let alone the starting line up IMHO. If he's there to win the knock down ball then Beckenbauer was correct and we'll play long balls!! He played okay against USA I will admit that but he cannot score goals! Surely Crouch can win the flick on, he's more skilful and his scoring rate for England is amazing!!

Don QuiHeskey is like a jigsaw puzzle - he goes to pieces when he gets in the box! The old ones are best!

Whilst we're on the subject of old jokes...

His shooting prowess is awful..."he couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo!"

I'm hoping that this will mean he scores a hat trick and we win 3-0

crap performance

It's probably a good time to start laying England for the World Cup outright

There is no spark anywhere is there? England are just not posing a threat.

I think I can add to the ever growing list of excuses..

1. We're tired after a long season
2. We've had a lot of injuries to key players
3. I've got a dry mouth due to altitude
4. The ball is the worst ever
5. The Americans are a good team.

6. That camouflage green shouldn't be allowed, we can't see 'em sneakin' up on us!

Theres no cohesion, to me there seems to be no team spirit evident at all....obviously personality clashes all over the pitch!

I'm glad someone else has spoken up as this is the Emperors clothes. England are the biggest load of over-hyped dross.

If some commentator goes on about England winning the world cup I'll vomit it's time to smell the coffee.

The issue is that the major Premiership sides would beat these world cup teams but the problem is the overseas player bolstering these 100k a week embarrassements.

Maybe England failing to get out the group stage will have the kick they need to make some fundamental changes. Just as Liverpool failing to get 4th spot in CL. They don't deserve the loyal support of the fans, they should have an open top ride of shame around the Country apologising for this.

I don't know what to think they have 45mins to do somthing POSITIVE

Couldn't agree more. It's becomming plainly obvious there is no way we're going to win this tournament

It seems the best strategies for the this world cup are backing 0-0 and laying favorites

I am sat here in complete silence this evening, haven't risen from the sofa once.

Don't forget though our 'heroic' team of 1990, did exactly the same in the group stages. Not an excuse for England, just an observation.
