You were never going to get that back, BF should have a button so you can trade out at SP even if the site goes down but you need a BD account for sure. Its a pain in the arse when you have PC though and need to work that out too

We've all been their and at some point you'll profit from such a thing so it'll all even out over time, couple of things you can do for these instances

Hey everyone,
What on earth just happened at 17:30 Lingfield - Party Royal was the least fancied according to odds, away up
at 40 something (approx) all before the race but once it went in - play he dropped to 1.1 - is this market manipulation?
I seen this happen at 15:45 Lingfield today as well.

Any thoughts? I'm new, so forgive me if I'm missing something.

It just happened again on the 17:45 at Newcastle. Price on the least fancied went down to 1.01 stayed there for a few seconds, shot back up to the pre-race price, then dipped back every so often to 1.01 during the next minute or so.

Is the bot trying to get people to back a loser? Or more to the point, get other bots to back the loser?
How could it even take the price down to 1.01?

I should point out that these occasions were all on Betdaq.

The markets were manipulated pre off to get a better price in running. 99% sure there. Tricorn was definely manipulated to be backed in running.

Federicka 6.15 Newcastle. Currently priced 8.0

I think this horse is going to be gambled and I think it will lead or upp in the first three of the pace.

This is patternforms pace... aparantly a hold up horse. I think not today

Ah if its a Betdaq market these are very very weak in-play especially AW evening races so wont take more than a few hundred quid if that to do such a thing, happening more than once suggests a rogue bot configured wrong rather than a fat finger.

Just grab a few quid while you can ;)

Ah ok-that makes sense Dallas! Quite scary to see such things happening in a market if you are a beginner- but I held out my logic that it just wasn't possible to go from 40 to 1.01 just because a race started, I have watched markets for weeks and never seen such things before.

I've been caught like that before on betdaq, twice! When the race goes in play all the money disappears and all that is left up usually is the 1.01. I've hit 1.01 before trying to back right before the off on the one click screen, though was a split second too late and hit 1.01 by mistake.

On betfair the market usually forms immediately so it isn't too bad if you make the same mistake, the in running on betdaq is very weak though and it takes a few seconds until the bots are turned on. So if you happen to click on the split second the race goes in play, you can hit 1.01 rather than the price it was showing just before the off.

As stated above the in running is generally much weaker on betdaq and markets very thin, though it's worth keeping an eye on as every now and again you see some huge orders go in pre race just before the off that are then kept in running and stay there until matched, even if the betfair price has gone through.
